Three Award Categories
October 1-31: Nomination period open
1. Community Leadership Excellence
Recognizing individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in advancing community prosperity, equity, or positive change on Buffalo's East Side through grassroots organizing, advocacy, or community development efforts.
Nomination Criteria:
Minimum 3 years of consistent East Side leadership and advocacy
Evidence of community trust and grassroots support
Measurable impact on community challenges or opportunities
Collaborative approach with diverse stakeholders
Work that directly benefits East Side residents and neighborhoods
2. Youth/Emerging Leader Recognition
Celebrating young adults (ages 18-35) who are creating positive change, demonstrating leadership potential, and contributing to East Side community strength.
Nomination Criteria:
Ages 18-35 at time of nomination
Leadership in community projects or organizations
Potential for continued community impact
Peer recognition or community support
Innovation or fresh approaches to community challenges
3. Innovation & Entrepreneurship
Recognizing individuals who have developed creative approaches, launched businesses, or implemented innovative solutions that address East Side challenges and opportunities.
Nomination Criteria:
Individual who has launched or led innovative solutions
Evidence of creativity in addressing community needs
Business ventures, social enterprises, or community programs
Potential for growth or replication
Positive community impact or economic development contribution
